Here is a quick update on this shaman guy.

Sketches

Things are busy here with the baby on the way but I'm manageing to work on a few pieces. Here are a few quick sketches from earlier today. They are actually just thumbnail sketches so they were painted pretty small.

Genius

I spend a lot of time surfing around looking at other peoples' artwork. Maybe a bit more than I should but sometimes I come across something really cool and inspiring. Case in point "The Brainstormer" created by the concept artist Andrew Bosley. It lists tons of word combinations along with story conflicts to help get the creativity flowing. Here is the final version. I just concentrated on the ship since the background was meant to be pretty loose.

Baby

I've been a little behind the past few days and slacking on the updates but I have a good excuse. I'm having a baby! Well, I'm not but my wife is...you get the point. Its our first so we are going crazy over here. Anyway here is a quick sketch I put together late last night.

I this one is just about finished but I think the wings need something. Maybe. Maybe not.

One of a hundred

Is it just me or is there never enough time in the day to create all of the things you want to. Out of the hundred paintings floating around in my head at the moment, here is the initial sketch of my latest.

Sculpt

Sometimes I like to "sketch" things in 3D to switch it up a bit. This is the begining of a character design done in ZBrush.

Another One

Here is a piece I've been working on for the past two days. I never usually spend that much time on a painting but there were a lot of details to work out. This was actually painted with more contrast but the darks were getting crushed when I viewed it on other monitors. So it looses a bit of the drama but what can you do.
